In Rome there are many magnificent fountains, but perhaps the most famous and special is the Trevi Fountain, located in Trevi square near Via del Tritone, the most beautiful at night. The Trevi Fountain is 25.9 m high, 19.8 m wide, in the middle of the fountain is similar to the Gods Neptune and Oceanus. It was originally the mouth of an ancient Roman aqueduct that supplied the city with water from pure water more than 10km away. In 1730 Pope Clement XII held the competition to rebuild the fountain, renovation work began in 1732 and completed in 1762.
